technique in the fight against corrosion in <a href=\"\/tag\/oil-casing\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><a href=\"\/tag\/oil\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>oil<\/strong><\/a> casing<\/strong><\/a>. By applying a sacrificial anode or impressing current onto the casing, cathodic protection helps to prevent the oxidation-reduction reactions that lead to corrosion.
